On June 19, 1865, a Union General rode into Galveston, Texas to announce that the Civil War had ended, and slaves had been freed.

This skirt was made from muslin scraps. I had this vision that I would have these Graffiti words of inspiration all over the skirt, but it really didn't work out.....got to figure that idea out for another day. For now I decided to hand paint flowers all over it. I will show you the finished circle skirt in an upcoming video.
