It's annual Christmas Walk, which almost didn't happen, because I got quite busy with orders that had deadlines at the same time, YIKES! However I did get my 5th Ave in and Macy's! The time I went was close to Christmas with Macy's happening on December 23.....that means CROWDS!
Capturing the Empire State Building with it's Rainbow Lighting
When I was taking this photo of the Empire State Building, 2 ladies struck up a conversation with me and we talked about Canon Cameras, Christmas Windows, and bird watching (they were bird watchers).
They are across the street from each other and you cannot see one without seeing the other. Saks and it's brilliant light show and The Tree! They stand in at attention and light the way for tourist and hometown folk to enjoy.
For the past few years, Macy's has done interactive windows. On 34th street side, the windows had buttons, you would step on to make, Santa Fly, put toys in the bag, and have fun. This caught the eyes of young and old....grown ups especially had a good time being a kid again.
On the Broadway side, the windows were message and brightly colored with lights.

Always a show stopper Bergdorf never disappoints, the artful designers use every corner of the window. This year they had a message LOVE, HOPE, HARMONY, JOY, GOODNESS.
